Being designated Budget Travel’s “America’s Coolest Small Town” means even more reason to celebrate Take Pride in Berlin Week in 2014! Take Pride in Berlin Week starts on Saturday, April 19th, with the Spring Celebration, and ends with Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 26th.
Take Pride in Berlin week is held every April – the week of Earth Day – and is an opportunity to show off what people cherish about living, working and visiting in Berlin.
What can you do to show your Berlin Pride? Start your week by visiting the Spring Celebration in Downtown Berlin on Saturday, April 19th. Throughout the week, look around your own property, your neighborhood, and anywhere else you can think of that could do with a pick-me-up. Or, think outside the box: How about a neighborhood herb garden or compost station?
Finally, join your neighbors on Clean-Up Berlin Day, Saturday April 26th. Clean-Up Day sign-up begins at 8:30 AM in either Stephen Decatur or Henry Park and runs until noon. In addition to the usual weeding, raking and general sprucing up, the painting of the Stephen Decatur Park mural is scheduled to begin. Clean-Up Day is rain-or-shine, painting is dependent on a nice, sunny day.
Can’t join us on the 26th, but still want to be part of Berlin Pride? How about another day or evening during the week? If you choose an area you’d like to work on another day, let us know! Painting of the mural is expected to take several weeks and volunteers will be needed throughout.
However you choose to show your Berlin Pride, let us know! Email Deputy Town Administrator Mary Bohlen at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 410-641-4314. Visit our Facebook page “Take Pride in Berlin Week”. You can also sign up for Clean-Up Day online!
