Fulltime Salary $19.94/hour ($41,475.20/annually) Full Benefits
*If the candidate possesses a Maryland Class 2 Water Operator License the pay would be $22.26/hour ($46,300.80/annually)
Essential Functions: The Town of Berlin is looking for an experienced, detail-orientated Class 2 water operator. This person is involved in the day-to-day operations of the Water Utility. This person will work under the direct supervision of the Water Superintendent. Must have a basic understanding of primary and secondary water systems and maximum contaminant levels. This is a full-time position, with a 40-hour workweek and the possibility of overtime.
Education and Experience: Minimum High School Diploma or GED with at least two (2) years’ experience in similar work. A pre-employment background check will be required. Pre-employment and periodic review of Motor Vehicle Records will be required. Must have an acceptable driving record with a valid Class C driver’s license, but a CDL is preferred and will need to be obtained after starting in the role if not already in possession. Maryland Class 2 Water Operator certification is preferred and will need to be obtained after starting in the role if not already in possession. Must possess the ability to perform the essential job duties of the position, use common sense and reasoning to carry out instructions, and resolve problems in standardized situations. Must be able to perform all tasks safely and efficiently as well as set the standard for others. Must be able to keep an open mind, communicate, and work with the citizens, employees, and elected officials courteously and professionally.
