Berlin Fire Hall to host recognition banquet on April 23rd
April 6, 2015, — Anyone wishing to reserve tickets for the 50th Annual Berlin Award Banquet to be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Berlin Fire Hall should contact Russ Barrett at 410-726-3823. The phone number previously distributed by the banquet committee for reservations has changed.
The banquet, sponsored by the Berlin Lions Club, begins with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and a program at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 person. The dinner will feature fried chicken and baked ham with anniversary cake desert.
Helen and Mike Wiley, who chose to live in Berlin for an active and rewarding retirement 10 years ago are being honored for outstanding community service known in the region as “The Berlin Award”. This year marks the 50th Anniversary awards banquet to be held at the Berlin Fire Hall, located on North Main Street.
The evening promises to be very special and memorable as the night’s program will include projected images along with a narrative by Joe Moore, a lifetime Berlin resident and one of the community’s leading authorities on the town’s history many call the “Historic Laureate of Berlin.” The presentation will feature “50 years of memories” of Berlin.
