Zack Tyndall was sworn in as the 25th Mayor of the Town of Berlin in October 2020, becoming the youngest Mayor ever elected to the office. A lifelong Berlin resident, he previously served the community as a Councilmember from 2016 to 2020. Throughout his public service, Zack has focused on responsible fiscal management, preserving Berlin’s historic character, strengthening public safety, supporting sustainable economic development, investing in the Town’s aging infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Outside of the Mayor’s Office, Zack is a healthcare simulation consultant, educator, and executive with extensive experience in emergency medical services, healthcare simulation, and organizational leadership. He has led the operations and development of academic healthcare simulation programs, helping educate current and future healthcare professionals through innovative simulation-based training. Zack also has more than two decades of experience in emergency medical services, including service as a career firefighter and paramedic with the Ocean City Fire Department and the Berlin Fire Company. He is a Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) and a Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS).

Zack earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Management, with a minor in Finance, from the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University.

Zack and his wife, Chelsea, are proud to call Berlin home, where they are raising their two sons.
