The Berlin Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time or part-time Police Communication Officer.  The application period is open (no closing date). DO NOT use the application on this webpage, the Police Department has a separate application that can be found here. 

Starting pay will vary according to experience. Individuals must be flexible, with shifts during the day, evening, and midnight.

Applicants must:

  • Be 20 years old or older.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Have a high school diploma or approved GED.
  • Pass extensive background check that includes a drug test, criminal history review, check of prior employers, and references among other requirements.
  • Must be able to successfully complete an entry-level MILES/NCIC logon course certified by CJIS.
  • No experience is required but is preferred.

POLICE OFFICER

The Berlin Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time police officers. There will be a physical agility test for cadets at the Berlin Police Department, with the written test to immediately follow upon successful completion of the physical agility.

Starting salary for cadets will be $38,500 while in the academy and through successful completion of field training. Salary then goes to $44,000.

Applicants must:
• Be 21 years old
• Be a U.S. citizen
• Have a high school diploma or approved GED
• Pass extensive background check to include: Psychological exam, Physical exam, Drug test, Criminal history, Credit check, and Driving Record.

Starting salary for lateral is $44,000 (less than two years experience) $46,640 to $48,600 (more than two years, depending on experience).
