The Public Works Department is divided into two divisions: Streets and Sanitation. The Streets Division is responsible for the maintenance of Town owned streets and roadways and sidewalks. The Sanitation Division is responsible for trash and recycling collection. The Public Works Department is also responsible for the maintenance of Berlin’s four municipal parks as well as other town-owned properties.

TOWN-WIDE MONTHLY BULK PICKUP PROGRAM
- Beginning in September 2025, the town introduced a monthly bulk pickup service, available on the second Wednesday of each month for a $25 fee.
- Effective January 1, 2026, bulk pickups will remain scheduled for the second Wednesday of each month and will be available for a fee of $25. The free bulk pickup service previously offered in the spring and fall will no longer be provided.
- Residents must register in advance and submit payment by the designated deadline. The existing four-item limit and type restrictions will remain in effect. All free bulk pickup services will be discontinued as of this date.
