Berlin Initiates Walks With Elected Officials
Community Invited To Join In and Share Their Concerns
(September 8, 2015) — The Town of Berlin is initiating a series of walks with Elected Officials as a follow up to the Strategic Plan adopted earlier this year, Mayor Gee Williams announced.
“We heard the community interest in increased recreation facilities and activities. These walks are one of the ways we’re responding to that concern,” said Mayor Williams. “Berlin has always been innovative. As a Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) community we’re looking for new ways to connect healthy activities with the way we do business,” he added.
“The walks are an opportunity for our community members to get a little exercise and share their thoughts about what’s going well and what we can do a bit better directly with their district Council Member and myself,” stated Town Administrator Laura Allen.
Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather. Heavy rain or storms will cancel the walk and a new date will be announced. The best way to keep informed of changes in Town activities is to sign up for CodeRed alerts at www.berlinmd.gov.
